Economy Targeted to Grow 8% in Prabowo's Era, Here’s the Role of the Nickel Industry
President Prabowo Subianto has set a target to achieve 8?onomic growth during his tenure. This target is quite ambitious, with specific goals outlined for the next five years: 5.7% in 2025, 6.4% in 2026, 7% in 2027, 7.5% in 2028, and 8% in 2029.
One of the efforts made by President Prabowo to achieve this target is by continuing the downstreaming of natural resources. In fact, President Prabowo Subianto has changed the nomenclature of the Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) to the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming.
Prabowo also emphasized the importance of downstreaming during his first Cabinet Meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (October 23, 2024). According to him, the program, which began during the administration of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), is one of the keys to prosperity.
